‘Immensely proud of what you’ve achieved’ – Ritika Sajdeh pens heartfelt note for Rohit Sharma following T20I retirement

Following India’s T20 World Cup win in Barbados, several emotions followed. It was an emotional day for every Indian fan as three veterans, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, announced their retirements from T20I cricket after the Men in Blue’s World Cup triumph.

Following the announcement of Rohit Sharma, the skipper’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, took to Instagram and posted a heartfelt note in Rohit’s honour and his career. The skipper masterminded India to an unbeaten run in the T20 World Cup, propelling them to the title.

With Rohit announcing his retirement, Ritika Sajdeh stated how proud she was of Rohit’s journey in T20Is and how emotional and inspiring it has been to witness the skipper realise his dream. She also admitted that Rohit made the decision to call it quits keeping the team in mind, and it was not easy to see him make that decision.

“Ro, I know what this has meant to you. This format, this cup, these men, this journey, and this entire process of getting what you’ve always dreamed of. I know how hard these last few months have been for you. I know the toll it’s taken on your heart, mind, and body, but watching you achieve your dream was incredibly emotional and inspiring,” Sajdeh captioned the post.

“As your wife, I am immensely proud of what you’ve achieved and the impact you’ve had on this game and the people who love it; but as someone who loves your game I’m sad to see you leave any part of it behind. I know you’ve thought long and hard about what’s best for this team but that doesn’t make watching you leave that part of it behind any easier. I love you so much and I am so incredibly proud to call you mine!” she added.
