Made by Google Event: Pixel 9 set to arrive earlier than expected on this date – Details

In what comes as a surprising development, Google has announced it will prepone its Made by Google Event by two months, which is traditionally scheduled in October. The event, to be held on August 13 at Google’s Mountain View headquarters, is seen as a measure to minimize leaks pertaining to Pixel 9 devices. Many believe Google’s move is a strategic ploy in the context of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 release.

What to expect from the event?

The event teaser, released on YouTube, titled ‘AI…meet IX’, gives a glimpse of the Pixel IX. The event will open with a keynote at 10 a.m. PT (10:30 p.m. IST) and is likely to see the launch of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, a new Pixel Pro variant, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Notably, the event might also allow users to have hands-on experiences with many products.

Google is also looking to use the event to underscore Google’s strides in the field of AI. While simultaneously integrating AI with its product and having launched the AI chatbot, Gemini recently, the US tech giant has already been a major player in the domain of AI.

Pixel 9 and its potential features

Despite Google’s attempts to maintain secrecy regarding its Pixel 9, several leaks have surfaced online. The leaks highlight some of the features and design languages. The device is likely to feature a flatter edge vis-à-vis its predecessor, while the corners are likely to be rounded.

The leaks further indicate that the Google Pixel 9 will potentially have 256GB of internal storage. Google may also ditch the previous camera module and will boast a re-designed camera bar, featuring a rounded pill kind of shape. Importantly, the device will possibly be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset.

What about the Pixel 9 Pro?

The Pixel 9 Pro model may be launched in two sizes, including a 6.1-inch model and the 6.7-inch XL model. The devices are likely to feature AMOLED displays, with stunning refresh rates.
