The Infinix GT 50 Pro is designed for a specific kind of smartphone user: the mobile gamer who wants more control than a touchscreen alone can provide. With a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate processor, a 144Hz AMOLED display, pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers and a liquid-cooling system, the phone puts gaming hardware at the centre of its identity.

There is an important India-specific qualification, however. The GT 50 Pro launched globally on April 24, 2026, but the sources reviewed do not establish an official Indian launch date or confirmed Indian retail price. A March report said the handset had appeared in India’s BIS certification database, which can indicate that a device is being prepared for the market, but certification alone does not confirm a launch.

One of the GT 50 Pro’s most distinctive features is its pair of pressure-sensitive shoulder controls, marketed as GT Triggers. They provide physical-style inputs along the phone’s frame, allowing players to map actions that would otherwise require tapping the touchscreen.

In supported games, this can free up screen space and make certain controls easier to reach. A player might assign aiming, firing or another in-game action to a trigger, depending on the game and its control settings. However, the presence of liquid cooling does not automatically prove that the GT 50 Pro runs cooler or sustains higher frame rates than competing devices. Ambient temperature is particularly relevant in India. A phone used in an air-conditioned room may behave differently from one used outdoors or in a warm, poorly ventilated environment. Independent thermal tests in realistic conditions would provide a clearer picture than marketing claims alone.

There is a catch: a 144Hz screen does not mean every game will run at 144 frames per second. Frame rates depend on the game, its device-specific optimisation, the graphics settings and the phone’s thermal behaviour. Infinix’s stated support for high-frame-rate gaming applies to select titles, not every game available on Android.

For buyers, the practical questions are whether their favourite games support higher frame rates, whether performance remains stable over time, and whether the screen is comfortable to use for long sessions.

Battery, Charging and the Accessory Question

The GT 50 Pro has a 6,500mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging. Global specifications also list wireless charging, with reporting describing support for magnetic charging accessories and an optional cooler.

A large battery is useful for extended gaming, but high-performance play can consume power quickly. Screen brightness, network activity, graphics settings and temperature all affect endurance. Buyers should look for gaming-specific battery tests rather than relying on capacity alone.

Accessories also deserve scrutiny. A magnetic cooler may help manage heat during intensive sessions, but it adds cost and another item to carry. Compatibility, availability and pricing in India would matter if the device launches locally. The same applies to wireless charging accessories: support on the phone does not guarantee that every accessory is included in the box.

A gaming phone also needs a reliable support ecosystem. Warranty coverage, repair access, spare parts and the availability of accessories are less glamorous than frame rates, but they matter when a device is used heavily every day.
